I’m used to getting my way the vast majority of the time. Maybe it’s because I’m adorable. Maybe it’s because I’m a kitten. Maybe it’s because I scream really loud whenever something displeases me. I’m not sure why, but for the most part, I get what I want, when I want. My parents are really digging their heels in on the whole “kittens aren’t allowed on the stove thing”, but that’s another story for another day.
Anyway. As I was saying, I’m pretty used to things being how I like them. So I’m not sure what in the heck is up with this thing called “winter”. I don’t like it one bit. It’s just too cold.
I’m not allowed outside, but I like to hang on the screen door, and poke my head out the door to see what’s going on out there in the world. I can’t do that right now! For one thing, Dad has closed the glass on the screen door, so I can’t latch my little claws into anything. The biggest thing, though, is that it’s too cold! I don’t even want to poke my head outside right now!
My mom got all sad and weepy when it first started getting cold and talked a lot about how much she hates winter. I didn’t think that much of it. I just thought she was being a drama queen, or didn’t know how to have fun. I mean, come on, she’s the biggest “kittens aren’t allowed on the stove” tyrant. It’s not like she’s the best at seeing the potential for fun in things.
I’m starting to think she was right, though. Winter is awful! It’s too cold to want to do much of anything.
Fortunately, I don’t have to leave every day for that place called “work” like my parents do. I get to stay home and snuggle into the blankets and fleece sheets. If I can just figure out the Amazon password I might even order myself a nice little space heater for the bedroom.
Seriously, though, I’m ready for this thing called “winter” to be over!
We are not too crazy about Winter either.

Hi Caroline, nice to meet you. I'm not a fan of winter either. You look lovely and cosy in your blanket :-)
